Zika Communication Action Plan

HC3 developed The Zika Communication Action Plan for the Dominican Republic after a multi-sectoral workshop in February and with inputs and guidance from the Ministry of Health (MSP), UNICEF, and the USAID mission. The document centers around the communication objectives that these stakeholders prioritized for 6 key audiences, and identifies the gaps in communication activities along a matrix of objectives per audience. It is intended to build upon the progress that has already been made in the Dominican Republic on Zika communication, to guide stakeholders in Zika communication to tailor their work towards filling these gaps, and to support the normative functions of the MSP as they coordinate with their sub-national teams and with NGOs and other implementing partners.

The 6 priority audiences selected by the Dominican Republic stakeholders are: Women of reproductive age, pregnant women, men, families affected by Zika, health care providers, and community actors (leaders/groups).
